Hand forged from 1095HC steel. Hollowed on the non-bevel side for ease of sharpening. Handle made of local Black Iron Oak and Spalted Maple. Finished with pure Tung Oil mixed with Natural Citrus Solvent.

What is Black Iron Oak? When a piece of iron, say a nail, is hammered into a tree, over time the wood surrounding the nail will oxidize, creating a black stain to the affected area. Multiply that by a hundred years or so and you have a large portion of the tree being stained black throughout its entirety.
