Hand forged blade made from 1095HC steel. Handle made from local White & Black Iron Oak. Finished with pure Tung Oil mixed with Natural Citrus Solvent.
What is Black Iron Oak? When a piece of iron, say a nail, is hammered into a tree, over time the wood surrounding the nail will oxidize, creating a black stain to the affected area. Multiply that by a hundred years or so and you have a large portion of the tree being stained black throughout its entirety.
